Sunny Yun is a new addition to the staff of Gahr High School. She teaches World History and Economics.
“I attended Whitney High School then went on to UCLA, and then to Pepperdine University School of Law,” Yun said.
She majored in sociology and specialized in business administration. Before becoming a teacher, her previous job was a lawyer for a district attorney office and department of child support services.
“I want to work with students so they can become contributing members of our society and help them become positive role models for everyone else,” Yun said.
She wanted to become a teacher because she loves teaching and says it is extremely fun.
“My favorite part is being with students and interacting with them and also seeing the learning connection being made,” Yun said.
Aside from working with the law and teaching, Yun has also traveled outside of the country.
“I have been to England, Switzerland, Jamaica, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.” Yun said
Yun enjoys seeing the different cultures and lifestyles people have.
“Out of all the countries I have traveled too visiting Malaysia was my favorite because it was such a different culture. Scuba diving there was super fun. There were beautiful reefs and I saw beautiful fishes and even sharks,” Yun said
