Deck the Halls with Christmas Movies

It’s the most beautiful time of the year to cozy up with some hot cocoa and watch some of the best holiday feel-goods. Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Polar Express can stir nostalgia when holiday flicks come to mind. However, some old and some new means to spread much-needed cheer, especially during today’s challenges. Streaming on various networks, below is a list of movies for everyone to unwrap and enjoy.

Classics to Rewatch

 

The Santa Clause Trilogy (48%🍅)Tim Allen stars in all three parts of this treasured series. What he thinks is a dream is confirmed reality as he becomes accustomed to his Santa Clause duties. Even Jack Frost is no match for this Old Jolly Saint Nick. 

 

Home Alone (65%🍅)This fave is never to be forgotten. Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, is forgotten by the McCallister family during their holiday vacation. Forced to survive in their absence, Kevin’s wish to not have a family during the holiday season leads him to display heroic measures to save their home from a planned robbery.

 

A Christmas Story (89%🍅)This movie is a classic. Every kid knows what they want for Christmas, and that includes Ralphie, played by Peter Billingsley. Determined to overcome obstacles on the playground and at home, Ralphie strives to convince his parents that he is responsible, and the Red Ryder BB Gun that he asked Santa for won’t “shoot his eye out.” 

 

Elf (84%🍅) Buddy, played by Will Ferrel, had been accidentally being transported to the North Pole where he was raised by elves. Wondering why he doesn’t fit the bill as an elf, Buddy heads to New York in search of his real father. The big apple doesn’t stop this elf from doing what he is set out to do.
 

New Movies to Unwrap

 

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (90%🍅) A musical fantasy about a man named Jeronicus Jangle, played by Forrest Whittaker, finds new hope in his dreams when Journey, played by Madalen Mills, his granddaughter and greatest creation, shows up to help him believe again. 

 

The Christmas Chronicles 2 (72%🍅) This adventurous sequel creates a bumpy ride for Kate Pierce, who joins forces with Santa Claus, played by Kurt Russel, against a mysterious troublemaker, in the ultimate battle to save Christmas.

 

The War with Grandpa (28%🍅) - Now playing in theaters. The Wise Guys vs. The Pint Size portrays some healthy competition between a kid and his grandpa, played by Robert Deniro, who overstays his welcome during the holidays. Peter, played by Oakes Fegley, uses his buddies to flex and declare war on his grandpa’s old pals to seize what used to be his.

 

Dear Santa (90%🍅) - In an effort to put smiles on the faces of children, this documentary puts a spotlight on how communities pull together during the many challenges we are faced with today to help the USPS with letters for Santa Claus.
