Don't Miss Out On Gahr’s Winter Formal!

Come celebrate this year's Winter Formal under the “Starry Night” coming up on March 5th! Some activities that you can look forward to are Among Us, Word Scramble, Charades, and more! We spoke to the Class of 2023 president and vice president for more information about the event. They provided details discussing, “Students can expect a place where they can play some games with their friends, listen to music and win prizes from the 2021 Winter formal dance.” Furthermore, they added that the games will be organized by the cabinet members in breakout rooms with one staff member for monitoring purposes.

The arising concerns ASB has faced over weeks of detailed planning, they recalled that “Some challenges we have faced in Winter Formal planning is time crunch because we would love to put together a fun and engaging dance for our fellow peers but in this setting, we are starting on a clean slate and building from there which calls for trial and error which can be time-consuming.”. This year's theme, “Starry Night” focuses on jewel tones and features a more interactive and enjoyable experience.

The event will be held on zoom. Students are not expected to dress up as it is not mandatory to attend, but if they decide to, they can post their outfits on Instagram by using the  #Gahrstarrynight2021 hashtag. 

“We as a team came up with the theme just in a brainstorming process. All the games are in the jewel tone colors theme, our cabinet will also be wearing jewel tones, as we encourage our students to as well to keep the theme. All promotions or games will also be in the theme of a starry night.”

This semester, court winners will be announced during the event. The court, made up of all grades, will also be featured on the Gahr High School website. The princesses and princes will be receiving sashes while the king and queen will be receiving both crowns and sashes.

The Class of 2023 wanted to give readers this message, "To all Gladiators who aren't sure about coming to the 2021 Winter Formal, we definitely understand the pessimistic viewpoint on it but we can assure you that the Class of 2023 has worked super hard to keep it fun and engaging. We will be playing games and engaging all students, we will be announcing court winners, allowing students to play games with their friends and listen to music and our DJ will be giving away Amazon gift cards during the dance! So come on in and invite your friends to join in on this year's Winter Formal!"
