Swifties: Fans Review Taylor Swift’s New Album
Have you been on Tik Tok lately? The new trending sound, “It’s me, Hi! I’m the problem, it’s me!” is from Taylor Swift’s new song “Anti-Hero.” It is one of many tracks from her new album, Midnights. The American singer and songwriter made her comeback on October 21, 2022, when she released her highly anticipated 10th studio album. Within three days of its debut, it sold more than 1 million copies in the US alone. In addition, it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, making it Taylor’s 11th No. 1 album of her career! After interviewing Gahr High School students, here are the opinions and recommendations on Taylor Swift’s newest album, Midnights.
To start, all 14 of the Swifties that were interviewed expressed great excitement about this awaited album. As this is Taylor’s first full album since Evermore in 2020, fans couldn’t have been more thrilled for new content. Many students said their favorite song off of Midnights was “Bejeweled.” The song includes lyrics full of confidence, such as “When I walk in the room, I can still make the whole place shimmer.” Fans have also mentioned its intriguing tempo and how the rhythm complements the lyrics well.
As Taylor Swift released this new album, networks have displayed mixed reactions about Midnights. Based on Gahr Swifties’ responses, the overall album is overrated, as many students said it's like a puzzle missing a piece. The album has great meaning and sound, but something is missing. Even with that said, they appreciate the music and thank Taylor for her hard work in delivering an album they can enjoy! Gahr Swifties recommend their fellow schoolmates to add “Lavender Haze” and “Bejeweled” to their playlists since the songs make perfect background music while studying.
